Google continues to get into the holiday spirit, adding holiday-themed imagery for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Festivus search results. Searches for each of the winter holidays comes with corresponding artwork atop search results – including Festivus, a holiday tradition made popular by “Seinfeld” character Frank Constanza.
Searches for “Christmas” include a snow-covered landscape with Santa waving from behind a star-topped tree.
“Kwanzaa” search results come with an image of the seven candles representing the principles celebrated over holiday’s seven-day period: unity, self-determination, working together, supporting each other, purpose, creativity and faith.
For “Hanukkah” searches, results feature images of the Menorah candelabra, Star of David and a Dreidel. Searches for “Dreidel” also return the same Hanukkah-themed imagery for search results.
(Launched last year, Google search results for “Play Dreidel” still return an interactive version of the Hanukkah spinning toy.)
For “Seinfeld” fans, Google has added Festivus (…”for the rest of us”) decorations with a Festivus Pole running alongside results for “Festivus” searches.
The Festivus holiday was introduced by “Seinfeld” character Frank Constanza – a day for family and loved ones to air grievances and show feats of strength.
Google’s holiday-themed imagery is a long-standing tradition for the site.
